Nirav Climbs for charityAfter Rickshawalas in 2012, here is the 2013 challenge.

I have set myself for 2013 – to climb up the highest free-standing mountain in the world, rising 19,340 feet above sea level, otherwise known as …Kilimanjaro.

I will be paying for the trek from personal funds and raising funds exclusively for a charity that is close to my heart – so you can be assured that all donations go 100% towards the charity and NOT to funding my holiday 🙂

The charity of choice is CAREducation Trust, and it is one that is very close to my heart. CARE’s mission is to educate children from underprivileged backgrounds and give them the tools for a brighter future.

Giving is Recieving

Nirav with the kids of Madhapar

What struck me about this charity when I have spent time at their projects in India, is the way in which it is truly grass-roots. The charity only builds projects where there are in situ, committed managers who have the skills to get the best out of the children. I was especially impressed at the way in which curriculums are tailored for the needs of street children, who have different needs to those who have the luxury of full time education that we all take for granted. These children can therefore fit in education in a tight schedule of looking after siblings, picking cotton and working on the farm…

Many thanks and please shout if you have any questions
